Subject: Su90 Tour N4 (w/Bruce)
there's no question that everyone was clearly having a blast. The fourth quarter takes the cake: Drumz->O1->Stella Blue->NFA with a beautiful Brokedown encore.
Subject: Maybe when a reckoning comes..
I felt that song was on target
with the LETS NOT F@CK THINGS UP
ANY WORSE THAN THEY ARE NOW.
And if you dwell upon it
The Human Race is seriously bent on destruction.
"It seems like total destruction is the only solution"
Anyway, found my hope in Jesus!
His Righteousness, NOT mine
As for the show.
Good to hear this from start to finish.
I was so worn out from the heat
that except for the power failure this is all new to me.
Funny to listen to Weir
still influenced by Dylan
with that Nasal twang during Big River
FOTD- with accordion
yeah that is a new twist
Almost a little Tex -Mex Polka
Masterpiece- A simple little ditty
but it sure could shine
Really Nice BIRD SONG
I kinda got lost in it
almost has an TOO feel
nice MIDI flute
Promised Land THE LEGEND!
HOW BAD IS IT !!!
Iko Iko*-This is a strong AIKO and yes Bruce and Brent dueling,
Playin'*-> Uncle John's*-> Playin' Jam--CRISP!!!
-> Drums-> Jam-> TOO--Soundman bringing the Chula Vista
-> Stella , Not Fade, E: Brokedown
Wow! NFA is super HOT!
--Brokedown --super sweet!
A well earned 5 stars

Subject: Sliding incident
YES! !!! it happened during MASTERPIECE! ***
I was already down on floor, but in the back, not far from porta-pottys, and we were watching as the people at the top were pushing in the fence - I'd say most of us were cheering them on. .. when they came all came rushing /sliding down, all the security guards were like headless chickens!
They couldn't really catch anyone!
(Maybe a handful)
Everyone was wet and slippery!!
-the one and only time they ever played at ralleigh as we were (not-so-kindly) asked to never return! !
...The energy from the hill incident still high, the power went out during PROMISED LAND* - just for a minute - and when it came back, the band picked up right where they left off! (It really was like pressing stop and start on a tape as DH225 stated)
*I'm grateful for this site - to be able to hear it all again...
I remembered the power going out as happening the same time as the hill incident, as my memories tend to mesh and blur with time. So glad there's endless posterity with GD!!!!
***now, listening to promised land, I seem to be having a visual of watching everyone run (and slide) down hill with security chasing ... comical - like a benny hill skit !! ..
So to be honest, it could have happened during PL, or was still happening. . (Oh memory... you are so elusive!)***
One of my all-time favorite memories, tho there are many.
Thanks for reminding me of it!

Great night. ONLY night I'll ever say that the cops were a horrible presence. There were NC State Troopers on horseback. The guy in the car next to me got busted...with opium...in North Carolina. Sucked to be him.
Overall, great night. Drove from Chicago all night, drove all night back, no sleep, one annoying passenger.
Subject: UJB - Hall of Fame Caliber
Subject: We Can Run is anything but inane.
Set 1 - Save Brent's inane We Can Run, all the rest of this is dialed in quite strongly, with Bruce lending a hand on accordian for Jack Straw (would love to hear his opening set someday, if anyone has it!) Bird Song gives the expected fireworks, but it's that literally electrified, fried-out Promised Land that makes this first set. You just have to hear this one patched!
Set 2 is a familiar and spectacular - check the Playin' > UJB > Playin' 'wich with that 2nd Main Ten aired out for quite a long walk - but it's Drums > Space that makes this one truly strange and powerful - Space in particular is a long, long journey - sometimes it's too easy to take that crazy interplay for granted. Just settle back with this one and listen to it propel the Other One....
Even NFA gets in on some o' that weirdness - listen late into the jam when they get ***freaky***!

This show's second set totally smokes. The accordion, which I usually detested, does not detract all that much. The Playin' sandwich makes this worth adding to your rotation. The percolator was plugged in, and if you want a taste of the infinite you will get it here in set II.
Maybe only a 4* show, with it not being a spacey set I, but the transcendent effort in Promised rates the extra star.
